During driving lessons with a certificate in Belgium, you will take practical lessons with a certified driving instructor through an accredited driving school.
After obtaining the certificate, you may also drive independently without a supervisor, within the conditions of your provisional driving license.
This is ideal for students who do not have a suitable private tutor or would prefer to gain additional driving experience with a professional instructor.
How exactly does that work?
1 / Take 20 hours of driving lessons
You must take at least 20 hours of practical lessons at an accredited driving school.
2 / Driving instructor rating
After these lessons, the driving instructor will assess whether you have sufficient skills to drive independently. If he or she thinks you are ready, you will receive a driving lesson certificate.
3 / VRLPG apply for M18 driving license
With this certificate you can apply to the municipality for a provisional M18 driving licence, which is valid for 18 months.
4 / Practice without a supervisor
With the M18 license you are only allowed to practice without a supervisor. This gives you more freedom to gain driving experience at your own pace.
